Welcome to GreenChoices

GreenChoices is about the choices we can make in our everyday lives to protect our environment, for the benefit of all. We aim to empower you with simple, direct information on green alternatives which make a real, lasting difference.

The core of this information is arranged as a series of Green Lifestyle Topics each of which is subdivided into a number of subsections dealing with particular aspects.

GreenChoices has changed!

We have switched to content management software which is much more flexible, and have restructured the site. We hope that now all the information on making your lifestyle greener is easier than ever to access. As well as the main topics, listed above and under the Green Lifestyle Topics tab, there is lots of other useful information.

The Tips and Starters section is still being developed but we hope it is helpful anyway. The list of Online Shops is not comprehensive but offers links to many general green suppliers as well as specialist suppliers. Feature Articles cover a variety of topics, while About GreenChoices tells you who we are, how you can help us and provides answers to frequently asked questions.

We have tried to make the site easy to navigate, with 'home' and 'top', 'next page' and 'previous page' at the bottom of every page, as well as the list of topics to the left of the text and the tabs for the main sections along the top. The whole site has been indexed so you can search for information on particular subjects or for a specific supplier. You can also print any page using the little printer symbol in the top right hand corner. 

Climate Change

This is a new section written for us by Dave Reay, an expert at Edinburgh University. It explains the science and the impacts, discusses what's currently being done, the choice facing us and how to tackle climate change, and answers many questions.
